Wife story: A 2BKH flat of 1,400 sq feet delivered like CTC! - 07/24

Ever since we tied the knot in 2012, my wife harbored the aspiration to own a spacious 1,400 square feet flat of 2 bedroom, hall & kitchen (standard ones are in the range of 900-1,100 sq ft in Pune city). Fast forward to 2015, I joined ZS consulting as a Business operations consultant. With our combined incomes, her steady government paycheck and my consulting CTC, it seemed to her that the stars had finally aligned for her long-cherished dream.
Little did she know, the pain of a private employee's CTC and actual take-home pay minus cut done by esteemed finance minister (or better say Revenue minister), Nirmala Sitharaman. 😄
Like HR offers expected salary (as CTC), I offered booking letter to my wife of the 1,400 sq feet flat in 2018, where we are staying now!
Built up area of the flat: 1,000 sq ft (actual carpet area is 850 sq ft)
1 car parking space: 200 sq ft (car parking is not part of flat area, and you can say it is like medical or insurance in CTC)
Yet, this only totaled 1,200 sq ft. In a bid to fulfill her expectations of no less than 1,400 sq ft, like HR, I asked the builder to increase the area to 1,400 sq ft. He offered me an additional open parking of 200 sq ft. (this was like Gratuity which would come after 5 years and generally we switch before this period)
With this, the sum of actual flat area + built-up loading + covered parking space + open parking space equated to 1,400 sq ft 😂
P.S. In the attached house warming photo from 2023, you will notice that my smile (rare photo where I have smiled) is bigger than her, and now the reason is clear! Alas, writing this story, I have reopened some old wounds of my wife and maybe taken wrath of finance minister! Anger of 2 ladies together - Amen 😥
