In the past, I had a tendency to talk excessively about myself. Between 2001 and 2011, I would often dominate conversations by discussing my own experiences and achievements.
Then, my cousin pointed out this narcissistic behavior. She pinpointed that during a 30-minute conversation, I would spend approximately 29 minutes talking about myself.
Taking her feedback to heart, I made a conscious effort to shift from talking to listening. As a result, I stopped focusing on myself and began actively engaging with others.
This change had a positive impact on my mental bandwidth, allowing me to allocate more energy to productive tasks rather than self-reflection. Now, during my free time, my mind is genuinely free, and I no longer feel compelled to constantly discuss my own experiences.
For nearly ten years, I heeded my cousin’s guidance. Then from 2021, I began writing stories about myself on LinkedIn 😁
