Team story: Team members hardly agree with me!
I've been working as the India Delivery Lead for couple of Pharma Consulting Analytics projects EVERSANA for the past four years. Each project involves HCP targeting, alignment, call planning, IC design, IC operations, dashboard reporting, and ad hoc analytics. These projects are complex due to nature of the product and multiple datasets to be utilized. On top of it, we set the business rules, pull the relevant cohorts and then deliver the task with insight on a tighter timelines are tight due to product launches.
Daily, I have at least 4-5 meetings with team members on various topics. We have a very lean team, so these calls are usually 1:1 or between me and two team members. These team members and I have been working together for the last 2-3 years.
However, not a single meeting goes by where we agree on the business rules or approach in the first instance. By the end of the meeting, we do finalize the rules, which are a hybrid of our thoughts. I've often wondered why I could not build a team that can reach an agreement in the first instance.
But today, I came across these two phrases and felt happy to have such elite team members who argue with me to deliver the best for the client!
"If two people always agree, one of them is unnecessary."
"If two people never reach a conclusion, both of them are ineffective."
