Offer story: 1 year network goes beyond 10 years at Great Lakes Institute of Management!

In February 2022, I reached out to a former batchmates from the GLIM, Chennai. Despite our limited interaction during our studies, I contacted him a decade later regarding a job opportunity in his organization, where he is the business head for home healthcare services. This sector is poised for growth, as non-critical patients can be shifted early to home, leading to savings on hospital room rent and reducing the burden on patient caregivers in terms of hospital visits and other logistical tasks.

I sent him my resume on LinkedIn, and he promptly responded with an invitation to discuss further over a call. During our conversation, he immediately said, "I can offer you the job, matching the current salary"

I am confident that his offer was not because I have extraordinary profile or the belief that he wouldn’t find anyone else. Instead, it was rooted in trust, a trust that I would deliver. This trust was fostered in an institution that not only shapes its students into future business leaders but also instills in them the value of mutual support in times of need.

Although we couldn’t proceed with the discussion due to certain constraints, his verbal job offer was a highlight of my year. I feel privileged to have such supportive batchmates from my B-school.
