Back in 1998, during my 8th standard, I posed a long, confusing question to my teacher. At the end of my query, the teacher exclaimed, “What the hell are you trying to say?”
Fast forward to 2013, when my marketing department head frequently asked me, “What message are you trying to convey?”
Despite being a decent communicator, I struggled with context setting. My communication lacked a proper beginning, and I often jumped between topics.
Then, starting in 2015, I began corresponding with clients via email. Emails allowed me to organize my thoughts, iterate, and add clarity before hitting the send button.
However, the art of storytelling still eluded me in my communication. It wasn’t until 2021 that I started writing short stories on LinkedIn. Over the past three years, I’ve improved significantly.
What remains consistent from 1998 to 2024 is my awareness that I need to enhance my storytelling skills.
Recognizing the problem is already halfway toward finding a solution!
