Joining eInfochips (An Arrow Company) in 2015 as a business development manager meant juggling tons of emails and follow-ups every day. This was pre-Jira and Teams task management software era, and I used to forget crucial emails sometimes.
This is where the trick applied by my manager was useful. To help me avoid missed communication, he had a unique solution: After our calls, he did jokingly "hold me hostage" on the call for an extra 5 minutes, ensuring the important email was sent before dropping off.
In today's world of distractions, his simple trick was surprisingly effective for staying focused and avoiding missing the communication. It was a reminder that sometimes, the best solutions are the most human ones.
