I recently came across an email draft that instructed the first line sales manager about address update process for Veeva Systems CRM. It contained following content:

  1. Kindly provide the updated address of the HCP (doctor)

  2. As address updating is a quarterly process, please provide all the changes at once

  3. After implementing in our database, the changes will be live on the dashboard after a certain date

  4. Please note that updating Veeva will take some time as we need to inform the Veeva CRM team and the process is lengthy.

Rationally the email was correct, but I still edited it as below:

"Please provide the updated HCP address. We will implement it on our database and Veeva CRM, and notify you as soon as the changes are live."

This is from the heart rather than rational mind. Mind you that beginning of the year is a hectic period for first line sales managers and as Consultants it is better to support them rather than make them feel guilty for giving changes.

One should preach not from one's rational mind but rather from the heart.
