ChatGPT story: Only Artificial Intelligence (AI). No Real Intelligence (RI) - 06/24

Recently, I shared some brief meeting notes with a teammate who was also present. I requested them to update the Jira board with this information, after running it through ChatGPT for potential improvement.
My notes were quick jottings that needed elaboration and context to be truly useful on the Jira board. For example, one of my note stated, "Patients are 700 in calculations while 400 in dashboards ."
Unfortunately, ChatGPT's output for this note wasn't helpful because it lacked the context behind the numbers. When I inquired about the uninformative update, the teammate simply said, "I followed your instruction to use ChatGPT"
This situation highlights the importance of providing context when using AI tools like ChatGPT. "Garbage in, garbage out" applies here – if the input lacks clarity, the output will be equally unclear. Ideally, the team member should have explained the discrepancy, like "There is a difference between the calculated patient count (700) based on units and patient factor, and the actual patient count (400) displayed on the dashboard (SP data source)."
And then run through ChatGPT for better para phrasing.
