Pharma data: Outlet-level data for drugs administered in hospital settings
Up to this point, I have worked with various data sources, primarily focused on the pharmacy level. However, there is a lesser-known dataset called SNR.
The Source Non-Retail (SNR) dataset in the pharma is data collected from non-retail channels, such as hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.
It provides detailed information on drug sales and usage in non-retail settings like hospitals and clinics, offering a more complete picture of the market beyond retail pharmacies
Additionally, some drugs are administered exclusively in hospital settings, making retail pharmacy data unavailable. For these hospital-administered drugs, the SNR dataset is the sole source of data for Incentive Compensation (IC), leadership reporting, and compliance tracking.
1. National Sales Perspectives® (NSP): This dataset provides nationally projected sales activities, measuring dollar and unit sales for pharmaceutical products across multiple distribution channels, including retail, mail, and non-retail
2. DDD® (Drug Distribution Data): This dataset offers sub-nationally linked sales activities by outlet, providing detailed insights into where products are sold at a more granular level
These datasets together offer a comprehensive view of pharmaceutical sales and distribution, both nationally and at the outlet level.
