Incentive story: How do you select current and previous quarter - 05/24

How do you simulate IC (Incentive compensation) plan for Q3'24 (assuming currently you are in Q2'24). 


  1. Use Q1'24 data to set goals

  2. Prorate Q2'24 data to account for entire Q2'24. Then use this as sales

  3. Run the simulator as you have goals as well as sales. Remember not to take Q1 and Q2 data as it is. You need to take the % contribution for each territory and then use it to split the goals and assumed sales. 

  4. Generally when plan is simulated, sales are equal to goals at national level. Once the parameters (commission rate or goal curve), then you can simulate sales attainment at other values like 80%, 90% or 110%, 120% of goals
